Head Coach: Chris Dubose
Chris Dubose has been in competitive sports since childhood. He mainly competed in calf-roping which required making small changes to improve his skills to shave off seconds with each run. Through hard work and self-discipline, Chris won first place in the World Championship for calf roping in Texas. Today, Chris uses the same personal discipline to improve his skills in running and jujitsu. He has completed many 5k races, half marathons, and competed with a team in “Run Across Georgia.”
Cross Country is a sport that challenges the individual to perform at their personal best and become motivated to do hard things. In many ways, although Cross Country can be scored as a team, Cross Country helps students individually build character and learn how to give it their best and push through the mental and physical obstacles in their path. There are so many spiritual lessons and life applications to running and that is one of the greatest joys to teach students in their race through life.
Chris has been helping the Cross Country coaches at Wynnbrook for the past three years and he plans to continue using the same principles that they used to motivate our runners to reach for their personal best. He hopes to see many returning runners and new students willing to try a new sport.
