5th Grade Teacher

Job Description:

The fifth grade teacher provides a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their spiritual, social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.  The teacher plans and implements a developmentally appropriate lesson based on the school’s approved curriculum to prepare students for fifth grade.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Using teaching methods that motivate the children to learn, building on their strengths and interests.
  • Integrates a biblical worldview into each subject throughout the day.
  • Teach whole group lessons, small group activities, and provide individualized support to students based on their needs, focusing on building literacy skills, number sense, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Create, complete, and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Review student’s formative, summative and standardized assessments and use data to drive instruction.
  • Measure student progress to encourage the mastery of standards within your content area.
  • Understand strengths, weaknesses, and needs of students and have the ability to communicate these to parents, administration, and other support staff.
  • Be servant-hearted & willing to assist others.
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste consistent with school policy.
  • Possess the ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors, possessing humility and willingness to be a team player
  • Able to attend staff meets, professional development, and other school events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or ACSI Teaching Certificate
  • Previous experience with early elementary is preferred
  • Have faith in God and have accepted salvation through His son, Jesus Christ; daily living in a relationship with God which would be evident in your life, through word and deed.

 

2nd Grade Teacher

Job Description:

The second grade teacher provides a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their spiritual, social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.  The teacher plans and implements a developmentally appropriate lesson based on the school’s approved curriculum to prepare students for third grade.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports and complies with the school’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
  • Establish rapport with each child and family and maintain positive interactions through a variety of communication methods.
  • Using teaching methods that motivate the children to learn, building on their strengths and interests.
  • Follow curriculum guidelines and standards for developing each of the core subjects.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Review student’s formative, summative and standardized assessments and use data to drive instruction.
  • Measure student progress to encourage the mastery of standards within your content area.
