Extra Curricular Activities
Field Trips:
Field Trips will be planned periodically. These activities will be integrated with the educational curriculum and will augment and enhance the educational experience. Students who cannot participate in a field trip will remain at WCS where they will be provided supervised learning activities in a classroom setting. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to help as drivers and chaperones.
Safety Rules: The following WCS standards apply to any parent volunteers.
Each student wears a seatbelt at all times.
Follow the designated route and stay with the group.
Make no unscheduled stops.
Correct any students as necessary, for the welfare of all.
Parties:
Parties are not permitted during the academic day. Students may bring a treat to share with their entire class at the end of lunchtime, providing that it is coordinated in advance with the teacher.
Students planning parties outside the WCS environment may distribute invitations at school only if every member of their class is being invited. If this is not the case, invitations should be mailed from home.
The general prohibition of parties applies to “year end” parties as well. Parents who wish to host such parties should plan to do so at places other than WCS.
Athletics:
Any athletic team representing WCS will abide by all safety rules listed above. While away from WCS, all athletes, coaches, and parents will be required to act in a Godly manner that represents our school. Participation of students in athletic events after school hours will be contingent on an updated physical form on file, participation at practice, and at the head coach's discretion.
